Maw LOVED Bannoffee Pie so one day she decided to try and make one. She popped a couple of tins of condensed milk in a pot of boiling water and then left the house to visit John at work and to give me a lift to Caol. Several hours later when she came to pick me up I reminded her she had the condensed milk on the cooker. When we arrived back to the house I could smell the burning on the way up the steps. The tins of toffee had exploded over the kitchen and dining area. We were up until 5am cleaning but we were still finding toffee years later and most of the kitchen surfaces were never the same!
