The Letterbox Catastrophe

Created by Fiona 12 years ago
When we lived in Angus Crescent we had a letter box that was stuck to the wall on the outside of the house. We had a little key that we kept hanging up in our kitchen to open it and it had a little slit on the top of it for the postman to pop our mail in. As I was fairly lazy sometimes if the mail was tall enough I used to stick the tips of my fingers in the top of the box and pull the mail out. Maw had seen me do this on many occasions. While I was at university I got a call from Maw. She was outside in the usual Fort William wild weather with her hand stuck in the post box. She had tried to do what I did and had stupidly put her whole hand in! After about 30mins on the phone she managed to wiggle her hand free. Unfortunately I was not much use, as I couldn't stop laughing!
